TB Joshua's Prophecy Now Being Fulfilled in South Sudan?

Sometime in late October or early November, Nigerian prophet TB Joshua prophesied that an East Africa president would be abducted by terrorists. Were it any other prophet, that would probably have gone unreported, but TB Joshua was right on the death of Malawi President Bingu wa Mutharika.

This prophecy was distorted by the internets, prompting his ministry to release the statement below...

"This is an official message from Prophet T.B. Joshua and The SCOAN. There are distorted rumors spreading on the internet concerning T.B. Joshua's prophecy this past Sunday. Rumors are saying that the man of God said that an East African country will soon be kidnapped by terrorists and that a night club would be blown up. Do not listen to the father of lies.

"These are not the words used by the prophet. Prophet T.B. Joshua specifically asked journalists not to misquote his prophecy.

"He said that he saw a leader being captured. The prophet instructed the people of God to fast and pray on Wednesday and Thursday. He said Wednesday and Thursday had nothing to do with what was going to happen, but the people of God should fast and pray on those days. He also told the congregation that he will stay in an attitude of prayer for the country concerned, so that God might subdue this coming evil to a mere sign.

"He said that the country concerned is not Kenya, but a country close to it. He mentioned that it is the same country in which a similar event took place while they were drinking and dancing.

"He will continue to pray for them, but he will not mention their names unless God instructs him to do so. This is because many would begin to spread rumors and false allegations against himself, the leader, and the country rather than pray for them. He said if prayer and security are not in place, the blood of thousands will be wasted. Let us all stay in an attitude of faith and prayer, in Jesus' name."

The wording of the prophecy prompted many to claim that the country in question was Uganda. This is especially because of the 'drinking and dancing' part, since a nightclub in Uganda was bombed a few years back.

Prophesies are however known to have deep interpretations, and only the prophet knows exactly what he means.

That takes us to recent events in South Sudan, where Salva Kiir's government has just survived a coup attempt. Fighting is however still ongoing. Only time will tell whether TB Joshua was talking about South Sudan.

Senator Yerima divorces 17year old Egyptian wife, marries another 15yr old

Three years after marrying a 14 year old Egyptian girl named Marian, which was widely protested in Nigeria, former Zamfara state governor and serving senator of the federal republic of Nigeria, Sen. Ahmed Yerima, has reportedly divorced her to marry a new wife, City People reports. According to the magazine, Yerima and four men, said to be members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly were in Egypt a few weeks ago for the wedding fathia of a new bride said to be 15 years old.

Marian who is now 17 and a mother of one, is believed to be the daughter of the former governor's driver whenever he visits Egypt. The reason he divorced her is to enable him take a new wife as he's not allowed more than four wives. The new wife is also Egyptian.

The Senator is alleged to have married and divorced a few women in the last few years but has never changed his first three wives, only the fourth ones.

Sen. Ahmed Yerima this year was strongly against the deletion of the section of the 1999 constitution which pegged the official marriage age in Nigeria as 18 years, saying it was anti-Islam.

11-Year-Old Nigerian Girl Storms the List of 100 Most Influential Africans

Nigeria has dominated the list of TOP 100 most influential people in Africa, published by New African Magazine.

One of the most notable among 23 Nigerians who made the list is an 11-year-old Nigerian girl, Zuriel Oduwole.Zuriel, whose Hebrew name means 'For God is my Rock', was featured in the magazine for her fight for the education of women.

Miss Oduwole was born and raised in the United States and, of mixed parentage, a Nigerian father and an American-Jewish mother. She lives in California in the United States.

This summer she made history, when she became the youngest person to be interviewed by the influential Forbes Magazine. The award winning documentary film maker, conference speaker and writer is featured in the August 2013 edition of Forbes Africa.

Miss Oduwole has visited China, where she learnt to speak and write Mandarin or Chinese. She speaks a bit of Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo. The girl also travelled to Switzerland, France, United Kingdom, Grenada, Turkey, Antigua, Australia, Fiji, Mexico, Ghana, Egypt, Mauritius, South Africa, Tanzania and, of course, Nigeria, her fatherland.

At the age 11, Oduwole has interviewed leading African personalities, including eight African presidents, Africa's richest person Aliko Dangote and tennis super stars – Venus and Serena Williams.

Touted by some as the next Oprah Winfrey, Oduwole is reportedly committed to rebrand Africa by showing the positive things in about the continent, and making the case for education the Girl Child in Africa and Emerging Markets.

Other notable names in the list are music producer Don Jazzy, business mogul Aliko Dangote,Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Idris Elba, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Alek Wek, Chiwetei Ejiofor,David Adjaye, DJ Sbu, former South African president Thabo Mbeki, Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe,El Anatsui, Lupita Nyong'o, Omar Sy, P Square, Trevor Noah, Fatuomata Diawaraa and NoViolet Bulawayo.

Also, the oldest woman on the list is the former foreign minister of Somaliland, Edna Adan (76), famous for fighting for women's rights and health.

The criteria of selecting the influential people is explained below:

2face, Psquare, Others Rule At CAAN Awards

From all indications, Bayelsa State is fast becoming the entertainment capital of the country. The state once again successfully hosted the first edition of the Caribbean African American Nations (CAAN) Music Awards 2013, at the Cultural Centre, Yenagoa.

As expected, there was no dull moment at the world class event which was beamed live to the world last weekend. Anchored by celebrated On-Air-Personality, IK Oskioduwa and supported by beautiful Toccara Jones ( America 's Next Top Model) and Claudia Jordan (Celebrity Apprentice).

The star studded event opened with a beautiful rendition of the national anthem by Bayelsa State-born singer, Timi Dakolo followed by a well choreographed dance performance by the state's Council for Arts and Culture. While welcoming guests to the state, the excited governor,Henry Seriake Dickson reiterated his administration's commitment towards uniting the world through the arts by using the platform of the state's potentials.

According to him, " There is no doubt that Bayelsa State has become the entertainment headquarters of the continent. By next year, we will release our tourism and entertainment calendar of the year. Every month, we will be hosting an international event."

Also, speaking at the occasion, the Chairman, Silverbird Group, Ben Bruce said, the CAAN music awards would serve as an icon of the music industry on the continent. Indeed, it was not a night for long speeches as well as undiluted performances.

The guests were thrilled with electrifying performances by a long list of Nigerian and foreign artistes such as General Pype, TJ Wonder, Chuddy K, Bba Dee, Daddy Showkey, Sheyi Shay, KCEE, Timaya, Tuface, Waxcomzy, Mafikizulu, Sean Kingston, among others.

The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of awards to deserving artistes. Baba Dee won the Dance Hall Reggae Album of the Year, while Dance Song of the Year went to P Square.

Others winners were Best Act South Africa – Mafikizulu, Song of the decade – Tuface's African Queen, Producer of the Year – D'Tunes, Best Act West Africa – Sarkode, Song of the year was won by Kcee and Album of the year which went to Flavour .

Since last week when popular musician, 9ice, posted the photo of the twin daughters that his secret Abuja based lover, Victoria Godis, gave birth to, it has been one trouble or the other. Some are beginning to say the issues are the handiwork of his estranged wife who he drove away from his house.

Whatever, 9ice actually denied openly in the media about two years ago that a lady gave birth to twins for him. And now that 9ice has decided to take the twins back, a section of the lady's family are angry...

He had thought Victoria, Oreka's sister, wanted to rope him with another man's pregnancy because he's star.

DETAILS REVEALED: How President Jonathan Was Hospitalized In UK For Chronic Stomach Pain

Nigeria's President, Goodluck Jonathan, has reportedly remained hospitalized at an undisclosed London hospital to which he was taken early today after complaining of chronic stomach pain.

"The President woke up to get ready for the business of the day only to complain of serious stomach pain", one presidency source said.

The personal doctor to the President, Fortune Fibresima, reportedly administered some medicines but as the pain escalated, Mr. Jonathan was reportedly rushed to a hospital.  Presidency officials hoped he would be released to participate at an Investor's Council Meeting taking place at the Hilton Hotel in Central London, about five minutes from the InterContinental Hotel where the Nigerian president is lodged.  The meeting is the objective of his visit.

Several presidency sources have confirmed to SaharaReporters that the President and several government officials partied heavily into the early hours of this morning as they celebrated Mr. Jonathan's 56th birthday.

The Nigeria leader is accompanied on the trip by several Ministers and officials, but three state governors who were invited to accompany him did not show up.  They include the Governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan, who opted to go to Poland.  He was reportedly afraid the London Metropolitan Police might pull him aside for questioning concerning his role in the money laundering fraud that led his cousin and predecessor as governor, James Ibori, into jail in the United Kingdom.

Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang and his Borno State counterpart, Kashim Shettima, were also both invited on the trip both they did not show up.

Last February, during another visit to London, Mr. Jonathan came down with an intestinal disorder described as Amoebic Colitis and he underwent testing at the London Clinic on Harley Street.  It is unclear if his new troubles are related to that experience. 

President Jonathan is said to have a taste for ogogoro, a local gin that is widely-enjoyed in the riverine areas of Southern Nigeria.  Presidential spokesman Reuben Abati has however denied that alcohol is served in the presidency.

Osun: 80-yr-old Monarch Burnt to Death Inside Palace

OSOGBO —  Police detectives from Osun State Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of  80-year-old Alase of Ilase-Ijesa in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun state, Oba Adesina Anibijuwon allegedly burnt to death inside his palace, Wednesday evening.

The monarch, who according to sources, lost his sight eight years ago was allegedly attacked by some hoodlums at about 8.00pm inside his palace and eventually died when the palace was gutted by fire caused by the suspected arsonist.

Speaking on the incident, a traditional chief in the town, Chief Oluwagbemiga Oke, explained that the house in which the monarch was living, donated to the town by a prominent native, got razed shortly after some unknown people paid the king a visit.

According to him, the monarch had attended to five guests who came in a pink Mazda car before the incident happened, adding: "From what we were told, the house got burnt shortly after the people left."

Also, an officer of the state fire service, Mr. Michael Ogundipe, ruled out the possibility of electrical fault , saying that findings by his men revealed that the case was arson.

Ogundipe who took officials of the state government, including the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Sunday Akere, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Sikiru Ayedun and Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Mr Amos Adekunle, round the palace said there was nothing that suggested electric surge from the findings made at the scene of the incident.

Children, maid unhurt

It was gathered that two of the monarch's children and his house maid escaped unhurt  while the fire raged, but the monarch could not help the situation due to old age and blindness.

Although the cause of the fire disaster could not be ascertained, it was speculated in the town that the men who visited the monarch last could be responsible for the dastardly act.

A Nigeria transgender had decided to share his story and appeal to people to stop stigmatizing people like him.

The man, now simply identified as Miss Sahhara has claimed that he was abused and jailed in Nigeria for being a transgender.

In an article she shared yesterday to mark the Transgender Day of Remembrance, she talked about how depressed she felt and how she even attempted suicide.

"I am standing in front of the mirror looking at my reflection. Tears of joy trickle down my rouged cheek before going on stage.

I am in tears because I just can't believe how realistic my dreams have become. I am a woman! Living my life freely. Accepted and respected for my achievements as a model and a performer.

My fellow transgendered sisters and brothers paved this way for me. They fought for acceptance, understanding and respect. Some died while fighting for what they believed in and others fell before their time due to hate, rejection and society's unfairness. Every single story gave me strength to fight on and never to give up.

I wish I could tell the younger me who tried to commit suicide twice that life gets better and dreams come true.

I did not imagine life could be this amazing many years ago after being released from a horrid Nigerian prison for being different. Then all I could think was I could die in this prison and no one will know or care.

Being imprisoned felt justifiable, considering I was being punished for being 'gay' – something they assumed due to my feminine features and mannerisms.

I wasn't gay, I am a woman born differently due to natural defects. What I felt did not match my outward appearance, Being assigned male at birth doesn't make me a man or a woman, nobody was born a man or a women, you develop into your preferred gender as you grow up. For me that gender was female. I was born male but my brain, gestures, features and carriage functioned as female.

Growing up and not knowing what was happening to my body made me confused and lost. I couldn't discuss it with my family because my femininity was frowned on due to religion and I could not talk to my friends because they would not understand what I was going through. I found solace in music and dreams.

I dreamt of being free to be myself, free of insults, free of judgment and free from harassment.

That freedom came when I moved to the United Kingdom, finding girls like me gave me hope of not being alone in my journey of self-discovery.

I found out what I went through growing up in Nigeria was quite common with transgendered people. Having freedom, acceptance and knowledge are the key most important elements to a successful transition.

Knowing I am not alone in my struggles helped me to reevaluate my views on life and how I should go about my transition wisely. I researched my transition and reconciled the conflicting emotions involved in the process of accepting myself as the woman I am.

It is a lonely world during transition, as your body changes so do your emotions, which leads the mind into the darkest path in life. If the chemicals are not professionally controlled, you can feel suicidal due to rejection from loved ones and society.

In life perfection doesn't existent, but for me having the freedom to be my true self feels almost perfect. As a black transgendered woman I am faced with many daily challenges such as transphobia, a complicated love life, poor career prospects and racism. But when I remember my life history, these challenges become water under the bridge.

That is why I will always remember those who built this foundation for freedom and knowledge. Also those who never got the chance to enjoy the acceptance we have achieved so far.

Transgender Day of Remembrance today (20 November) is particularly import to me because I have lost close friends to suicide and have seen many more wishing to commit suicide as a final fix to their gender dilemma and rejection by society.

The media is silent on the subject of transphobia and the effects it has on young transgendered people of today, because they don't see transgendered people as 'normal' members of our community.

Remembering my fallen friends helps me to keep their memories alive. It also encourages me to carry on the fight to be respected, understood and accepted for whom I am.

I dream of a world where we are given some sort of understanding and tolerance to live peacefully as able, intelligent fellow human beings who make positive contributions to society.

Transgendered people are human too. We are your brothers, your sisters, your children, your friends and your lovers. Stop the hate! "
