Nigeria's President, Goodluck Jonathan, has reportedly remained hospitalized at an undisclosed London hospital to which he was taken early today after complaining of chronic stomach pain.
"The President woke up to get ready for the business of the day only to complain of serious stomach pain", one presidency source said.
The personal doctor to the President, Fortune Fibresima, reportedly administered some medicines but as the pain escalated, Mr. Jonathan was reportedly rushed to a hospital. Presidency officials hoped he would be released to participate at an Investor's Council Meeting taking place at the Hilton Hotel in Central London, about five minutes from the InterContinental Hotel where the Nigerian president is lodged. The meeting is the objective of his visit.
Several presidency sources have confirmed to SaharaReporters that the President and several government officials partied heavily into the early hours of this morning as they celebrated Mr. Jonathan's 56th birthday.
The Nigeria leader is accompanied on the trip by several Ministers and officials, but three state governors who were invited to accompany him did not show up. They include the Governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan, who opted to go to Poland. He was reportedly afraid the London Metropolitan Police might pull him aside for questioning concerning his role in the money laundering fraud that led his cousin and predecessor as governor, James Ibori, into jail in the United Kingdom.
Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang and his Borno State counterpart, Kashim Shettima, were also both invited on the trip both they did not show up.
Last February, during another visit to London, Mr. Jonathan came down with an intestinal disorder described as Amoebic Colitis and he underwent testing at the London Clinic on Harley Street. It is unclear if his new troubles are related to that experience.
President Jonathan is said to have a taste for ogogoro, a local gin that is widely-enjoyed in the riverine areas of Southern Nigeria. Presidential spokesman Reuben Abati has however denied that alcohol is served in the presidency.
OSOGBO — Police detectives from Osun State Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 80-year-old Alase of Ilase-Ijesa in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun state, Oba Adesina Anibijuwon allegedly burnt to death inside his palace, Wednesday evening.
The monarch, who according to sources, lost his sight eight years ago was allegedly attacked by some hoodlums at about 8.00pm inside his palace and eventually died when the palace was gutted by fire caused by the suspected arsonist.
Speaking on the incident, a traditional chief in the town, Chief Oluwagbemiga Oke, explained that the house in which the monarch was living, donated to the town by a prominent native, got razed shortly after some unknown people paid the king a visit.
According to him, the monarch had attended to five guests who came in a pink Mazda car before the incident happened, adding: "From what we were told, the house got burnt shortly after the people left."
Also, an officer of the state fire service, Mr. Michael Ogundipe, ruled out the possibility of electrical fault , saying that findings by his men revealed that the case was arson.
Ogundipe who took officials of the state government, including the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Sunday Akere, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Sikiru Ayedun and Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Mr Amos Adekunle, round the palace said there was nothing that suggested electric surge from the findings made at the scene of the incident.
Children, maid unhurt
It was gathered that two of the monarch's children and his house maid escaped unhurt while the fire raged, but the monarch could not help the situation due to old age and blindness.
Although the cause of the fire disaster could not be ascertained, it was speculated in the town that the men who visited the monarch last could be responsible for the dastardly act.
A Nigeria transgender had decided to share his story and appeal to people to stop stigmatizing people like him.
The man, now simply identified as Miss Sahhara has claimed that he was abused and jailed in Nigeria for being a transgender.
In an article she shared yesterday to mark the Transgender Day of Remembrance, she talked about how depressed she felt and how she even attempted suicide.

I am in tears because I just can't believe how realistic my dreams have become. I am a woman! Living my life freely. Accepted and respected for my achievements as a model and a performer.
My fellow transgendered sisters and brothers paved this way for me. They fought for acceptance, understanding and respect. Some died while fighting for what they believed in and others fell before their time due to hate, rejection and society's unfairness. Every single story gave me strength to fight on and never to give up.
I wish I could tell the younger me who tried to commit suicide twice that life gets better and dreams come true.
I did not imagine life could be this amazing many years ago after being released from a horrid Nigerian prison for being different. Then all I could think was I could die in this prison and no one will know or care.
Being imprisoned felt justifiable, considering I was being punished for being 'gay' – something they assumed due to my feminine features and mannerisms.
I wasn't gay, I am a woman born differently due to natural defects. What I felt did not match my outward appearance, Being assigned male at birth doesn't make me a man or a woman, nobody was born a man or a women, you develop into your preferred gender as you grow up. For me that gender was female. I was born male but my brain, gestures, features and carriage functioned as female.
Growing up and not knowing what was happening to my body made me confused and lost. I couldn't discuss it with my family because my femininity was frowned on due to religion and I could not talk to my friends because they would not understand what I was going through. I found solace in music and dreams.
I dreamt of being free to be myself, free of insults, free of judgment and free from harassment.
That freedom came when I moved to the United Kingdom, finding girls like me gave me hope of not being alone in my journey of self-discovery.
I found out what I went through growing up in Nigeria was quite common with transgendered people. Having freedom, acceptance and knowledge are the key most important elements to a successful transition.
Knowing I am not alone in my struggles helped me to reevaluate my views on life and how I should go about my transition wisely. I researched my transition and reconciled the conflicting emotions involved in the process of accepting myself as the woman I am.
It is a lonely world during transition, as your body changes so do your emotions, which leads the mind into the darkest path in life. If the chemicals are not professionally controlled, you can feel suicidal due to rejection from loved ones and society.
In life perfection doesn't existent, but for me having the freedom to be my true self feels almost perfect. As a black transgendered woman I am faced with many daily challenges such as transphobia, a complicated love life, poor career prospects and racism. But when I remember my life history, these challenges become water under the bridge.
That is why I will always remember those who built this foundation for freedom and knowledge. Also those who never got the chance to enjoy the acceptance we have achieved so far.
Transgender Day of Remembrance today (20 November) is particularly import to me because I have lost close friends to suicide and have seen many more wishing to commit suicide as a final fix to their gender dilemma and rejection by society.
The media is silent on the subject of transphobia and the effects it has on young transgendered people of today, because they don't see transgendered people as 'normal' members of our community.
Remembering my fallen friends helps me to keep their memories alive. It also encourages me to carry on the fight to be respected, understood and accepted for whom I am.
I dream of a world where we are given some sort of understanding and tolerance to live peacefully as able, intelligent fellow human beings who make positive contributions to society.

According to the information available in the media, the accident occurred yesterday, November 20, when the actress was making her way to a movie location in the said town.
As it has been learnt from the reliable resource, Mimiano experienced brake failure in her newly bought Honda CRV before she ran into a building and hit the car on the compound's fence.

PROF. JOHN IDOKO, DIRECTOR GENERAL OF NACA
The Director General, National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), Professor John Idoko has revealed that Kafanchan, the headquarters of Jema'a Local Government Area of Kaduna State is leading in HIV/AIDS prevalence in the state.
Idoko, who made this known at a free medical check, including HIV/AIDS screening conducted by NACA in Kafanchan, said the programme is aimed at ensuring that 80 million Nigerians are tested.
Represented by Dr. Daniel Ndukwe, the NACA boss noted that the test and medication are free just as he enjoined people in the area to ensure that they are tested.
He said: "This is a medical outreach in line with the president's plan for 80 million Nigerians to be tested. We organised this programme here because HIV/AIDS prevalence rate is high in Kafanchan".
He added that anyone, who tests positive, will be given drugs.
Speaking in similar vein, Permanent Secretary in the Kaduna State Ministry of Health, Dr. Paul Dogo, who represented the Kaduna State governor, Ramalan Yero, said the campaign against HIV/AIDS will continue until it is eradicated.
"We will fight the scourge with all our arsenals to ensure a final blow to HIV/AIDS. Traditional rulers and individuals should mobilise the people for the test. I want to use this opportunity to call on the people of the state to live in peace," Dogo said.
Executive Secretary, Kaduna State Agency for the Control of Aids (KADSACA) Patrick Katuka, said the rate of HIV/AIDS in the state has now dropped from 7.69 per cent to five per cent.

NewsRescue- USA Wikileaks secret cables reveal that according to Professor Ukandi G. Damachi, Nigeria's former president, Musa Yar'Adua was poisoned. Yar'Adua died while in office as president of Nigeria in May, 2010.
Professor Ukandi G. Damachi is a friend to US consul, long term confidant to Nigeria's past president Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida with privy to Nigeria's government workings inside information.
The Wikileaks cable, reference ID 08LAGOS153, described in Professor Damachi's narration, that late president Yar'Adua was given poison in his food, "his food was poisoned", he alleged. Further stating that the president inherited his predecessor, president Obasanjo's kitchen, and these kitchen staff were likely used to poison Nigeria's president. The professor further revealed that when president Yar'Adua realized this he fired the Obasanjo kitchen staff.
Quoting Damachi from the US secret cables:
"There are lots of problems in Nigeria." The first problem, he said, is the President's illness; "his food was poisoned", Damachi alleged. Asked whether he meant "food poisoning" or that someone had deliberately poisoned the President's food, Damachi shrugged, replying "The President inherited Obasanjo's kitchen staff"; Yar'Adua has now fired them all, and the kitchen has been cleaned out following the incident, Damachi said. At the same time, Damachi went on, the President did attend functions on both the Saturday and Sunday preceding his illness and ate some food at both of them. "What President eats at a function?", Damachi asked rhetorically. The President was so sick that the day he signed the budget, he was unable to sign a second piece of legislation awaiting his approval…"
Yar'Adua was known to have stepped hard on his predecessors toes. Upon entering office president Yar'Adua, described by his wife as a very honest man who left no wealth behind; seriously went after the reversal of Nigeria's public assets that his predecessor had sold to his allies, Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola.
"My father is a bureau de change operator at the airport. I am the one who arranged a seven-man armed robbery gang led by Godogodo to rob my older brother, Ibrahim who was carrying my father's money amounting to $383,000.
"I told the gang that my father had dollars. The first operation was when Ibrahim wanted to convey money from local airport to international airport, I called Godogodo and gave him the car number plate and the colour of the car. I told them not to kill my brother, but to shoot into the air. I knew my brother would release the money because my father told us not to drag money with armed robbers. They collected $350,000 and gave me only two bundles which is $20,000.
"In the second operation they stopped my brother in front of Air Force Bus Stop and collected $33,000 and they gave me $8,000."The suspect, who is now in SARS custody, also confessed to be part of the deadly Godogodo gang.
"He stole from the same church last year. He was charged before a different court and was sentenced to one year imprisonment. In fact, he was just released from prison just last week. I don't think he is ready to change."36yrs old Ademola Ayeni was sentenced on Monday after he was convicted on charges of theft for making away with the offerings of the church members. He had been previously convicted of the same offence after he stole from the same church last year.
A sad housewife, Caroline Omoseebi, has asked the Alakuko Customary Court in Lagos State to dissolve her 44-year-old marriage to her husband, Pastor Ayemisan, over his attempt to use her for money rituals.
Caroline confessed to the court that her husband took her panties to a herbalist:
"He is the one that deflowered me, now he wants to use me for money rituals and has taken my panties to a herbalist. this was why I took my belongings out of his house.
"My husband insisted that he has to be rich by whatever means, and that was why he joined the secret cult. He has put a sign on my child for ritual purpose. He even tried to inflict me and one of our children with partial stroke…
"Though he is the father of our seven children, I will not go back to his house."
Pastor Ayemisani, who was a carpenter before he became a pastor, denied all the allegations. He said that his wife was telling lies against him, insisting that he is a "real" pastor.
He also alleged that they never had problem until she started moving with bad friends.
"Since she joined the club of bad friends 10 years ago, she has become uncontrollable," he said.
Funny enough, Pastor Ayemisan told the court that he was not ready to divorce his wife and he is now ready to change his wrong ways.
The court president, Mr. Godwin Awosola, adjourned the case for judgment with a warning that the couple and all other related parties should maintain peace.
The wife, Caroline, however insisted that she can't stay in one house with him so as not to be used for rituals.
There is serious crisis in Ikota area of Lagos as touts, or local boys, are having a clash with policemen.

It is not known for sure how many children have been killed, different resources provide different information: some claim 3 children lives, some – 4, and some even 5.
The tragedy occured close to Ikota Primary School. The deceased pupils are believed to be making their way to the school when they were crushed. The driver abandoned his truck and escaped.
The two express lanes have been blocked by the angry protesters which has caused heavy traffic in the area.
