CONFESSION: Why U.S. President Is "Scared Of His Wife" [VIDEO]

It isn't easy to quit smoking. Tobacco contains nicotine, which is a stimulant drug and, therefore, is addictive. U.S. President Barack Obama also once had this weakness. However, he had a strong stimulus to give up this pernicious habit: his fear of the First Lady.

After discussing some issues at the United Nations' round-table meeting, Obama was heard speaking by an open mic with a fellow attendee. The two men talked about their progress in battling smoking addiction.

"I hope you quit smoking," Obama is heard telling Maina Kiai, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and of association.

"Sometimes," Kiai replies with a chuckle.

"I chew Nicorette," Obama says, and his words are followed by an inaudible conversation.

"No, no. I haven't had a cigarette in probably six years," Obama then continues and jokingly admits, "I'm scared of my wife."

Both men are heard laughing.

Four years ago, in June 2009, Obama admitted to smoking, however, he said he was "95 percent cured."

After he signed his health care bill into law in March 2010, Obama went cold turkey, his friends told ABC News at the time.

The U.S. President has been known to regularly chew nicotine gum and munch on celery sticks to help him overcome the habit
