Jose Mourinho accepts criticism over his team's poor performances, but expects a better result at home to Fulham on Saturday.
Since the scoreless draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford, Chelsea have gone on to lose three games in a trot, the highpoint of which was their first Champions League home loss in less than ten years and last week's league game at Everton.
The 'Blues' have got off to their worst Premier League start since Roman Abramovich bought over the club in 2002, but the Portuguese insists the "scrutiny" is fair enough.
"I think the scrutiny is normal. I am not surprised by opinions and critics and everything else," he told the news media at a Premier League press conference. "I am not surprised and I am not worried. I did not read many, but I agreed with some and disagreed with others. I have a job to do. I know the steps I have to take; when you want to build something different, the players are adapted and comfortable- it is more difficult.
Since last Tuesday's loss at Stamford Bridge to Swiss club Basel, varying opinions have suggested the need for more options upfront, while others believe the new look Chelsea lack the ability to hold down their markers in the defence.
Mourinho said his Chelsea family is primed to play much different football, adding that it's a new dawn for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
I don't like the way Chelsea were playing the last couple of years; the club doesn't like it and we want to change. We want to play different style. The past is history- even my past, I'm here like I've just arrived.
"People were asking if I wanted Didier (Drogba) here but that's history and we need to change. I agree we must have better results and we are not the kind of club who will wait three to five years for that to happen. We want them to play in a certain way now," he added.
Among the five top contenders this season, only Liverpool has not lost a game but Mourinho thinks there's no course for alarm at this stage.
"I'm worried because I lost and I don't want to lose, but again this is the way it happens sometimes. For me there is no crisis- it's just two bad results.
Fernando Torres, who is the only Chelsea striker to have scored one of the club's seven goals so far, was demoted to the substitute's bench in last weekend loss and was not listed for midweek Champions League game.
"I'm not going to tell you if Fernando will start. Some will travel, some will not," Mourinho said on Torres' availability.
Aside from their opening day 1-0 triumph over Sunderland, Martin Jol's men have failed to win in the league and are down in the 14th spot.
Chelsea will be hopeful of extending their 14-match unbeaten league run against Fulham, but Mourinho is wary another defeat which could bring to an end his 62 matches Barclays Premier League home unbeaten record.
"I think Fulham have a very good, experience manager and team," he added.
"They are a great example of experience at this level and they know how to play. They are a difficult opponent.
"Fulham have very good players who know everything about the Premier League and derbies.
"They have good players in attack, in the centre and out wide. It will be a difficult match for us. We need points, they need points and between the two needs is that it is local derby. I think it will be a proper Premier League match."
Chelsea have no injury worries going into Saturday's encounter and new £30m signing Willian could earn his first league start.
Darren Bent, who has started once for the Cottagers this season, is likely to return from a hamstring injury, while Dimitar Berbatov, who limped off against West Brom last week with a hamstring problem is a doubt. Bryan Luiz has an ankle problem and will miss out, Aaron Hughes (thigh) and Mathew Briggs (hernia) will not feature.
